The Main Street was originally a medieval square and it is from this period its current spindle shape was obtained. This shape is typical for most towns in Eastern Slovakia. Nowadays, the access of cars and trams to the Main Street is limited and together with Mlynska and Alzbetina streets, the Main Street forms a strictly pedestrian zone.
