On September 18, 2009 the Mayors of Košice and Krosno signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the City of Košice and the City of Krosno in the Polish city Krosno. The main goal of the Memorandum is to create conditions for the complex development of mutual relations in the field of culture, cross – border cooperation, social communication, development of a road traffic, mutual support and information exchange. By signing the Memorandum already existing contacts will be strengthened and it will provide the space to extend the cooperation to other fields – experience exchange in social sphere, economic development, business sector, culture, arts, education and sport, traffic and environmental protection.
Mayor of the City of Košice, Ing. František Knapík, Ing. RNDr. Emil Petrvalský CSc, Chairman of the Commission for Education, Sport and Youth and František Balún, Chairman of the Culture Commission of the City Council took part in the signing ceremony on behalf of the Municipality of the City of Košice.
Mayor of the City of Krosno Piotr Przytocki and his Deputy Mayor Bronislaw Baran, Councillors of the City Council of Krosno, the representatives of the city cultural organizations, the representatives of the Fire – Brigade, State and Municipal Police took part in the festive ceremony on behalf of the City of Krosno.
